The Attractions

With the 508 Balilla, Fiat introduced an innovative idea: to offer equipment and technological solutions usually intended for high-end cars in a small and relatively inexpensive car. The Balilla was designed by some of the most important automotive engineers of the time, such as Nebbia, Fessia and Tranquillo Zerbi, and it can certainly be said that their work produced an excellent result.
In 2002, this 1934 example underwent a complete restoration and was re-registered and became part of a private collection. We are told that it has been scrupulously maintained and stored indoors ever since, only being used to attend events and classic car rallies. The car is accompanied by its original engine (in need of restoration), as well as the original collector's plates.

History and Documentation

Conditions

  • We have been informed that the bodywork is free of corrosion and very correct and well aligned on both sides
  • The paintwork is still shiny and shows only a few faint marks due to age
  • The seller informs us that the underbody and chassis are completely free of rust and in good condition
  • The chrome shows some imperfections but presents itself quite well
  • The interior is well preserved, and the seller reports that the upholstery is in excellent condition
  • Charming original equipment, including the original ashtray and rear blinds
  • Floor mats are not present

  • Four-cylinder 995 cm³ engine
  • Four-speed manual gearbox
  • The current engine comes from another 1934 Balilla, from the same series but with a different serial number
  • The original engine with matching serial numbers will be delivered with the car but requires restoration
  • We have been informed that the mechanics are in good order and efficient, and that this Balilla is ready to be driven
