The Appeal
The Rolls-Royce 20/25 was the most commercially successful pre-war Rolls-Royce, with over 3,800 examples produced between 1929 and 1936. Designed as a smaller, more manageable car for the owner-driver, rather than being driven by a chauffeur, it offered the refinement and quality expected of the marque in a more accessible package that felt much less like trying to steer a yacht on the asphalt. Coachwork was bespoke, and this example wears a saloon body by Barker & Co., one of the most esteemed British coachbuilders of the era - which is no doubt why it looks like such a distinguished machine.
This car, affectionately known as "Betsie," has been in the care of an active Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club member and has recently benefited from notable mechanical work, including a comprehensive chassis-up rewire and a new clutch. Dry stored for the last ten years, the vendor describes it as being in usable condition and ready for its next custodian. It comes accompanied by its original build certificates, a workshop manual, and a full tool kit. image.png1.46 MB
