The Appeal
MG’s first post-war sports car was little changed from its predecessor yet it captured the hearts of demobbed servicemen, particularly across the pond. It is this car that cemented MG’s reputation for simple, reliable and non-nonsense cars that majored on fun.
No wonder, then, that these cars remain so popular today. This one spent its life enjoying the dry, cossetting climes of South Africa before arriving here in September 2024. It was extensively restored by the previous keeper, including tub, floors, roof, seats, tyres, wiring, side screens, interior and a new battery. It appears to have covered very few miles since and the vendor reports that he has never used it on the road since buying it when it arrived.
The result is a very pretty TC in classic ‘racing red’ with a complementary tan leather cabin.
