The Appeal
The MG 1100 isn’t exactly what you’d call a performance icon, but if you’re in the market for a true slice of 1960s Britain, this little saloon delivers charm by the teacupful. Think of it as a middle-class Morris with an MG badge – a car you drove to the Post Office in while puffing a pipe and wearing a tweed cap. This one wears a very British two-tone green and white outfit, has a remarkably intact wood dashboard, and isn’t trying to be anything it’s not. It’s slow, it’s simple, and it’s sensationally honest. Just don’t expect to beat anything more aggressive than a bicycle in a race.

The Condition
For a nearly 60-year-old MG, it’s aged with surprising grace. The paintwork still holds a decent shine, the body looks straight, and the wheels appear well kept. Inside, the green vinyl seats and carpets are holding up, and that wood dashboard – complete with MG-badged wheel and period switchgear – oozes retro appeal. There’s rust in the boot floor, and a few areas under the bonnet show their age, but overall it’s honest wear that matches the mileage. Certainly cleaner than your average BMC relic.
