The Appeal
The timeless appeal of the W113 Pagoda explains why demand and values remain strong, and likely too why this car has had just three keepers in its 55 years. The current one has held onto it for 22 years.
The comprehensive history file shows it has covered a shade over 41,000 miles in its life. Classically finished in factory-correct silver metallic following a £15,000 2024 respray, it presents at a high level. Inside there is an original black leather interior whose light patina adds a nice touch of character. You could easily bring it to the standard of the exterior, or enjoy it as it is.
The mechanicals have received similar investment in recent years. In 2025 alone £5,000 has been spent on overhauling the fuel system and improving the brakes.
This is the sort of Pagoda for the collector who values provenance alongside condition. As the desirable 2.8L version with auto box, there’s scope to jump in and add to those low mileages on a European road trip or two. However you choose to use it, we wish it well with its fourth keeper.

This car looks very sharp in the photos thanks to a 2024 £15,000 respray in the original silver metallic. The paint finish is of a good, even quality and matches the hard top and wheel embellishers. The bodywork presents well with close inspection of the arches, sills and underside returning a positive impression.
Inside the black leather interior is said to be original. There are some minor signs of age such as to the dash top veneer trim and the hard top headlining, but they are not unsightly and would, in any event, be fairly easy to remedy.

Often with a sparingly-used, low mileage car there is a temptation to cut corners on maintenance. The long-term keeper of this car hasn’t fallen into that trap. As you can above, the car has been maintained to a very high degree, key areas receiving attention include the cylinder head, gearbox, underside, fuel system and brakes. It has also been recently tuned up by a Mercedes specialist.
The result is a very low mileage car where someone else has put in all the hard work so that the buyer doesn’t have. We are told the car runs and drives very well.
