1972 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray

Vendor supplied images

  • Modelled after the iconic Mako Shark II concept
  • Believed to be genuine mileage
  • Incredible condition
  • Offered from a private collection of American vehicles
  • Equipped with highly sought-after 4-speed manual transmission
  • Powered by the very rare and robust 454ci V8 engine
  • Retains the fully independent suspension and disc brakes from the C2 generation

The Appeal

One of the most iconic cars in American history, the Corvette C3 is one of Chevrolet's greatest success stories. With exaggerated Stingray styling beset with slicked-back lines and a sugar-scoop roof, the car seemed to live and breathe speed - it was bold, it was innovative, and it was fast!

To this day, these show-stopping cars signify everything bold and brash about the golden age of the American motor industry - and demand attention no matter where they are. They're a true flagship in every meaning of the word.

Purchased by the vendor in March 2020, this C3 ‘astro-top’ Stingray has been cherished, cosseted and used sparingly in its current ownership, having been garaged when not in use and only driven on sunny days. That whopping great V8 - the biggest fitted to the model - is still offering a sonorous, burbling soundtrack, and the independent suspension offers a top-notch ride. If the rare engine and gearbox configuration wasn't enough, just look at it. The original factory decals, condition of the paint and all the original features suggest that the mileage may in fact, be genuine too.
Make no mistake, this is one for the serious collector.
