Highlights
- Part-restored by enthusiast 10 years ago
- Well presented bike little used since work
- Scope to complete and add value
The Appeal
The Tiger 650 is the economical and, for some, more practical alternative to the bigger Bonneville, and a firm favourite with fans of classic tourers. They are stylish too, as this tidy 1972 bike shows.
The vendor’s father partly restored it in 2015, since when it has been little used. We like the dark purple and cream colour scheme and the array of original features like the Lucas switchgear and Smiths dials. The bike hasn’t been used in some years, so may benefit from some checks. There are a few signs of age, but nothing that won’t appeal to a handy enthusiast who wants to add some value to a popular classic British bike.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
