1973 BMW 3.0 CSA E9

Highlights

  • Thought to be one of just 27 right-hand drive automatic examples remaining UK-registered
  • Previously restored with photographic evidence in the history file
  • Gearbox and interior refreshed by renowned BMW specialist Munich Legends
  • Will be given a fresh MOT for the new owner (despite being exempt)
  • £10,000 - £15,000 worth of invoices and receipts from 2026

The Appeal

The BMW E9 3.0 CS is widely regarded as one of the most elegant grand tourers of the 1970s. Its pillarless coupé silhouette, slim windscreen pillars and responsive M30 inline-six made it a desirable and expensive proposition when new; the automatic CSA cost more in the UK than a contemporary Aston Martin DBS. Right-hand drive automatic examples are now exceptionally scarce, and this 1973 car is thought to be one of just 27 such vehicles still UK-registered.
Finished in Ceylon Gold metallic over a dark blue interior, this E9 CSA reportedly benefits from an older restoration, which is said to be supported by photographic evidence in the history file. More recently, the gearbox and interior are noted to have been refreshed by Munich Legends and overall around £10,000 - £15,000  has been spent this year. Now ready to be enjoyed by it's next owner who has kindly offered to put a fresh MOT on the car despite it being MOT-exempt.
