The Appeal

The Corniche was an inspired move. Rolls-Royce’s new, coachbuilt coupe gave buyers a spacious, very luxurious four seat GT with the relaxing ride of its Silver Shadow saloon.
Just 1,090 hard top Corniche I coupes were built over 16 years from 1971. From 1977 they received the same upgrades as the four door, including revised steering, uprated interior and impact-resistant bumpers.
Each Corniche could be carefully bespoked to the original owner’s specification. The first owner of this one clearly took their time, specifying popular Willow Gold with black roof and beige interior. It retains this eye-catching trim and is in very good condition, befitting the low miles and registered keepers.
A vast history file - one of the best we have seen recently - attests to the care it has received. Notable highlights include an engine rebuilt in 2014 and, within the two last years, a coolant service, four new tyres and rust proofing. It was serviced in February 2024 at 58,686 miles. Further evidence of the fastidiousness is a long advisory-free MOT to September 2024 even though this is no longer required by law. The result is a very tidy and beautiful car ready to enjoy.
