The Jaguar XJS is a mainstay of British motoring excellence. First produced in 1975 to replace the E-Type, it was a core part of Jaguar’s range for over 20 years. In 1981, the British marque added its High Efficiency V12 to the lineup drastically improving fuel efficiency.
This particular 1985 model benefits from this very engine which put out nearly 300 horsepower when new. Having been well taken care of, as one can see from the many invoices included in the sale, this car surely is still in its prime.
The car underwent a small restoration project two years ago removing areas of rust. Some welding was done to the chassis, notably behind the rear sills while the body had its paintwork rejuvenated. Having covered just 33,000 miles with just 3,000 of those being done in the last 14 years, this must be a great example of the V12 XJS.
