The Appeal
The Mk1 was great but the Mk2 is the hot hatch king. The ‘big bumper’ 8V Mk2 GTI was the fizzy, responsive alternative to the 16V, today delivering an engaging, analogue driving experience unrivalled by its peers.
This grey metallic car has been in the same family from new. It is pleasingly factory standard, right down to the optional BBS ‘lattice’ alloys and ‘rainbow’ grey fabric interior. It has been well maintained, benefitting from some extensive investment since 2022 totalling over £5,000. The work has included welding, electrics, cylinder head rebuild and suspension and brake overhaul.
With MOT to February 2026 containing no advisories, this is a very usable and solid Mk2 8V that could be pressed into daily use or saved for the weekend.
