XJ40 generation XJ saloons are ageing like fine wine. Well-kept, original examples like this remarkably good Japanese market car are becoming seriously sought after, and it's easy to see why.

Of all the engines on offer, the 3.2-litre AJ6 models offers a sweet spot of performance and refinement. Our 1994 car benefits from an enviable history, having spent most of its life in Japan where it covered just 25,344 kilometres (approximately 15,750 miles) over 32 years. Imported to the UK in 2020 and acquired by the current keeper in 2022, it was enjoyed during the summer of 2023 before being stored in a heated garage, where it has been started occasionally and driven on the owner's property. The vendor reports that it was intended for classic car shows, though ill health prevented these plans.

The condition is reportedly outstanding, with the recent MOT inspector commenting that it looks like a brand new car. Most significantly for UK buyers, we're informed that it is completely rust-free underneath and throughout the bodywork - a rarity for any XJ40. The vendor considers it one of the best examples available. Mechanically, we're informed it is in excellent shape with a well-presented engine compartment, and it has been thoroughly prepared for sale with a new battery, fresh fluids, and a long MOT (with no advisories) valid to January 2027.
