The Appeal
For every full-fat hot hatch, certain car makers also gift buyers a ‘sleeper’ model. These cars, like the 205 XS, aren’t as powerful as their better-known cousins, but they are, in many ways, just as good or - whisper it - better.
Renault’s entrant in this rarified category is the RSi, a subtler alternative to the Clio Williams. This car got a revvy 1.8L 110bhp engine, sports suspension and lightly sportified interior. So it very much has the spirit of its big brother. But its key appeal is that you’ll struggle to differentiate it from regular Clios, which makes it a proper traffic light warrior.
This RSi is that rare find, a one-keeper car with very low mileage - under 71,000 kms - and in great, unmodified condition. A recent bodywork refresh and mechanical overhaul build on its impressive provenance.
