The Appeal

The History and Paperwork

• Ordered new in 1997 
• You will find the original bill of sale for this car in the paperwork 
• All of the brochures and BMW literature is still present from the purchase
• This even includes the original bill of sale
• It also has a lot of old tax discs and tax reminders
• Everything still works well
• Has a fairly long MOT on it
• For reference, it passed all of its MOTs with no advisories 
• You can see from the online MOT data the lack of miles completed annually
• It even still wears the original dealer number plates
• This is a wonderful car, with a great history
• It is now your chance to add to the history, and enjoy this car properly

The Interior

• Special order seat upholstery
• It is said that this is the same blue as the BMW badge 
• This was a special request from the owner at the time, and BMW were only too happy to oblige
• These seats are in great condition, but then again, it has only covered 6,000 miles
• The carpets are in amazing condition
• Throughout the interior are pieces of black plastic trim
• Fitted in the roof is an electric sunroof
• This still works as it should, going all the way back easily
• Even the steering wheel looks barely used
• The parcel shelf has not been hacked to pieces to accommodate an aftermarket stereo
• You may see a little bit of sagging to the headliner, but nothing that will require attention too soon
• A toolkit can be found in the boot
• It looks like the majority, if not all, of the original tools, are still present
• There is also a warning triangle and first aid kit
• This is one of those rare-to-find, untouched, unmodified, BMW compacts
• As such, the interior is presented very well indeed

The Exterior 

• Finished in a deep black colour
• There are little to no signs of exterior rust
• The paintwork is in great condition with no obvious bubbling
• For a car that lived its life in London, it is in remarkable condition
• There is a slight mark on one of the bumper over-riders, but this is one of the only marks that can easily be found 
• The current owner couldn’t even find a car park ding
• The hubcaps are in great condition
• The headlights and taillights are nice and clear, with no obvious hazing 
• Even all the badges look nearly new
• These cars are rather sought after amongst certain circles, and this one is a great blank canvas
• Park it on your drive, or at a car show, people will always admire these cars

The Mechanics 

• Proper BMW engineering
• Small capacity, but economical, 1.6l engine 
• Lots of MOT certificates to verify the mileage
• All of the MOTs show no advisories
• Out on the road, it drives well
• These cars are known to be fun to drive
• This has been looked after well and should be a great little car for you
