The Appeal
It took BMW a couple of years to realise that its agile retro-esque roadster was a rival to the Boxster rather than the MX5. That switch occurred with the arrival of the grunty 2.8L M52 engine, which turned the E36-based convertible into a quick and hugely entertaining tail-sliding classic.
These compact-sized, big-engined roadsters are really a successor to the Austin Healey 3000 and make highly usable modern classics. This car fits that brief perfectly. Finished in popular Titan Silver with black leather, it has been well maintained and has the all-important 5spd manual box.
The history file show a run of 15 service stamps from new up to March 2025. There are plenty of receipts and invoices for other work, including to the brakes in 2022. The car will be sold with a fresh 12-month MOT and the choice of BBS-style alloys or standard five spokes as shown.
