Offered as the Pontiac Bonneville's top-of-the-line trim, the Grand Ville is distinguished by unmistakable, gleaming chrome front and rear, luxury trim and a wide choice of available body configurations and alloy wheels, giving it the look of a true road-going queen. It is a perfect representative of an era when excess was all the rage and sobriety was unappreciated - and after all, what could be better than a giant American car equipped with every imaginable accessory?
The cabriolet version is by far the rarest of all Grand Villas. Only 5,000 were produced out of a total of 290,000 cars and even today it proves particularly attractive and at home where the climate is milder. These cars were designed to travel the Californian highways, and we are sure that this '74 example is just as pleasant and rewarding to drive in Italy, where it is currently registered.
This stunning convertible powered by a classic and mighty 7.5-litre V8 is certainly an eye-catcher and reveals its American origins at first glance, a truly remarkable and certainly very impressive classic.
