The Attractions
When it was launched, the 930 Turbo introduced revolutionary innovations while retaining a deceptively familiar aesthetic appearance. It was a pioneering era when supercharged engines were beginning to be introduced on production cars, a technical solution that went particularly well with the 911's air-cooled rear engine and made the 930 incredibly fast, without altering its unmistakable design.
Thus was born a cheeky, high-performance car with powerful lines. While the other 911s were considered by many to be good, practical, everyday grand tourers, the 930 Turbo was a true supercar and was nicknamed the 'Widowmaker' or 'Widowmaker': it was the fastest production car produced in Germany, and became famous for its wild character. In many ways, it was the 930 that changed the image of the 911 forever, showing what that already famous model was really capable of, and to this day examples in good condition are still coveted and sought-after, a true object of desire for fans of Stuttgart cars.
This extraordinary example is a real gem. It is a left-hand drive car with its stunning original red paint, and has spent much of its existence in the United States, where it has belonged to the same family for two generations, passed lovingly from father to son. Brought back to Europe in 2017, the car is now Italian-registered and MOT-compliant, and has ASI certification, which exempts it from both stamp duty and supertax. It has recently been thoroughly serviced and the mechanics have been carefully overhauled, so this 930 is ready to hit the road and give its next lucky owner great thrills.IMG-20250426-WA0019.jpg373.63 KB

The Mechanics
3.3 litre (3,258 cm³) turbocharged boxer engine
4-speed manual gearbox
Engine compartment is in good condition
Original intercooler fitted
Recently received an extensive service and general overhaul
The 930 inherited the 911's nervous and tendentially oversteering drive, and its much higher power further amplified these characteristics, resulting in a sometimes unpredictable car. For this reason, some purists and loyal Porsche customers found it unsettling, but it was able to win over many fans of the sportier, more dynamic driving style, and even today it appears as a very different car from other 911s, less precise and comfortable but also more fun and exciting.
It is therefore probably not the ideal car for those who prefer the quiet driving and comfort of a grand tourer, but it is certainly perfect for those who want an engaging driving experience; we have been told that this particular example is still able to offer all the performance and extraordinary driving characteristics of the original. Once you've got to know it, the 930 is a car you can't live without, and we're sure that this recently overhauled and very well tuned example will very soon become the thing you love most in the world.IMG-20250213-WA0032.jpg486 KB
