The Ford Model A was a product of change in more ways than one. The unshakably stubborn Henry Ford had been quite content to maintain the standardisation of the Model 'T' - after all, it had practically built his company - and keep it in production 'as is'.
When General Motors started releasing bigger, bolder and more powerful cars with ever-increasing tenacity, however, even he had to shift his worldview. The age of 'Flexible Mass Production' had finally arrived on their production lines - and the new car was an enviable sign of changing times. After only a year-and-a-half, over a million had left the plant; quite a number in these early days for the industry.
This fine 1928 example is a great ambassador for the Model 'A'. Previously based in Denmark, this car has spent much of its recent life in storage, and has been with the same family since 1974. It now comes to us ready and waiting to begin a restoration with the lucky new keeper. IMG_1904 Bruce Smith.jpg1.79 MB
