The Appeal
The Wolseley Hornet was a car of economy - but economy that felt quite well-adjusted and brisk for its price range. These upfront little saloons carried a tiny light-six engine that proved to be better than they had any right to be. The thirties were seeing a new demand for quieter, less-rattly 6-cylinder engines, and the Hornet was a focus on exactly that.
Taking the format of the already successful Morris Minor, the Wolseley stuck in their new quart-pint six-pot into the bonnet, provided a comfortable cabin and set it off. The resulting car was economic, capable and surprisingly nimble on its feet - with a nice, smooth engine to boot and '30s styling that was upright and distinguished.
This fine example of the little car is a beautifully presented 1932 survivor. Comprehensively restored between 2014 and 2016, it's truly beautifully kept and well-documented, with plenty of paperwork and a history of only three keepers from new.
It's not often an opportunity like this presents itself, and we think this handsome vintage is well worth your attention.
