The appeal
Descended from the Matchless G3/L widely used during the Second World War, the AJS Model 16, or M16, was a mainstay of the brand's range for several decades. Its development began in 1945 and sales continued until the 1960s.
This particular model, dating from 1946, was one of the first to be sold. However, following a complete restoration in 2008 and fantastic maintenance since then, you wouldn't believe its age. In fact, it's in fantastic condition, both visually and mechanically. What's more, it's a highly original motorbike that celebrates the best of post-war freedom, with identical numbers, as several documents attest.
With its superb black and gold paintwork and overall tasteful look, this AJS is sure to attract attention wherever it goes. Connoisseurs are sure to recognise its importance in British motorbike history.IMG_20240205_144131 Renson Jean-Louis.jpg3.14 MB
