The most
The late 1950s and early 1960s were an exciting time for Jaguar Cars. With five Le Mans wins in close succession and the E-Type project almost ready to be unveiled, Browns Lane must have been a very exciting place to be. While the brand's sports cars enjoyed the spotlight, it should not be forgotten that this Le Mans-winning technology also found its way into Jaguar's premium saloons. Take the MkIX, for example.
This 1961 MkIX has the 3.8-litre XK in-line six under the bonnet, coupled to disc brakes, power steering, power brakes and a smooth three-speed automatic gearbox. The seller says it drives almost like a new car - which we can well believe. We are informed that he acquired the Jaguar in Ireland in 2013, prior to which it had undergone a full restoration in the UK.
The restoration was reportedly documented in a copy of Jaguar Driver magazine and the car went on to win an award for the quality of the work carried out.
