The Appeal
If Series Land Rovers are lacking in anything, it's power. As trusty as the venerable old 2.25-litre four-bangers are, keeping pace with fast-paced modern traffic is not a standard Land Rover's forte - until now.
This 1972 Series III 88" has been retrofitted with Rover's excellent 3500 V8, suped up further still with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburettor, while the business of stopping is now taken care of with front disc brakes. Having undergone significant work in both 2021 and more recently in 2025, this Land Rover offers a chance to own a distinctive, V8-powered Series III that's been thoughtfully upgraded while maintaining its classic appeal. With a suitably patinated aesthetic, which always looks good on an old Land Rover, and a new canvas tilt, this Series III is ready to enjoy the autumn months.
