The Appeal
Is the Fulvia Coupe one of the most handsome classics out there? It's our humble opinion that it's high up the list. Nimble-handling, comfortable and capable of miracles on the track, the Fulvia follows a very clear family tree to the 1930s - and completely revolutionised what a front-wheel-drive car could be capable of, too.
While there were other front-wheel motors proving themselves on the rally circuit - the Mini had certainly turned plenty of heads - the Fulvia was no pure city car. It was sporty, charismatic and paradoxically relaxed. It simply felt more refined and defined than its squat British rival and, in the modern day, has gone down as an excellent all-rounder.
This handsome example underwent a comprehensive restoration in recent years, which has left it in excellent condition from top to bottom. The black and red livery is a fine recapture of the Montecarlo special edition—a rich red with a matte black bonnet and boot lid accented by yellow lamps and number roundels.
