THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

• This Stag is well known to the Stag Owners Club
• A fresh MOT will be carried out prior to sale
• A selection of invoices chart the Stags maintenance over the years
• Of note is a bare metal strip down and rebuild which was undertaken by Triumph specialists Faversham Classics in 1993 at a cost of £5,060. The invoice for this is on file and details the works carried out.
• There is also an invoice from Faversham Classics dated 9th April 1993 which shows that the V8 engine was rebuilt at a cost of £1,775.04
• The history file also shows a list of maintenance jobs carried out from 2001 to 2008

THE INTERIOR

• The Stag sports black vinyl seats which are in good condition with some signs of use here and there. The only area of note is a tear on the left lower corner of the back to the passenger seat which should be a straight forward repair
• The wood dash is in good order and all the gauges and switches are present. The owner states that everything works as it should.
• An Alpine head unit is installed and this has Bluetooth and Handsfree functionality. It is connected to a subwoofer (which fits behind the rear seat) with two small Bose home cinema speakers located in the rear side pockets.
• Stag rubber matts are fitted up front and these are in good condition and the carpet underneath is also good
• The dash top is in good shape with no cracks visible. The centre speaker grill has a small area of damage but it is not immediately noticeable.

THE EXTERIOR

• This Triumph Stag is finished in classic Topaz Orange which is a colour that really suits the lines of Michelotti’s design
• The 30 year old body restoration has held up well and there are some small scratches, chips and scuffs which is to be expected for an older restoration
• There are some rust bubbles showing on the door bottoms and a few small areas on the sill edges
• Some touch ups have been applied to the bottoms of the B pillars and the bottom edges of the rear arches, which are shown in the photos.
• There is also an area of rust showing on the inner right rear wheel arch tub
• The cars bright work is in decent shape and cleans up well. There some signs of ageing here and there but the chrome is presentable 
• The Stags Black Convertible Hood is in good shape with no rips or tears evident 
• An Orange Hard Top comes with the car
• The Stag sits on 15” Challenger Alloys wheels which are from Australia. The spare is the original type Wolfram wheel
• Of note are the US rear wing lights which have been fitted along with the Stag badge which is rare for a UK car
• The lock that is fitted just to the left of the right front headlight is believed to be from an old immobiliser system which has long since been removed

THE MECHANICS

• 3.0 litre V8 engine which was rebuilt in 1993
• 4 Speed Manual Gearbox with Overdrive
• The speedometer is currently showing 12,957 miles which is believed to be 212,957. The history file notes that new timing chains and exhaust valves were fitted in February 2002 at 177,300 miles
• The current owner has carried out much of their own maintenance over the years and has upgraded and moved the alternator to facilitate the mechanical water pump conversion, which is a known upgrade for Stags
• The Stag has reconditioned Stomberg carbs fitted
• It also benefits from Electronic Ignition and is fitted with an immobiliser which the owner states works as it should
• They go on to say the Stag was serviced by them in September last year and drives very well thanks to the manual gearbox, which they say is the best option for the V8 engine.
