The Attractions
Originally designed to replace the Fiat 124 Coupé, the car we now call the Beta Montecarlo was not intended to sport the Lancia badge. However, Fiat rejected Pininfarina's proposal in favour of another mid-engined car designed by Bertone, which would have been much cheaper to produce.
That car would have become the X1/9, but instead of rejecting all of Pininfarina's hard work, the project was offered to Lancia who turned it into not only a successful sports car, but also one of the most legendary rally cars of all time: the 037.
This 1976 Lancia Beta Montecarlo is in fantastic condition after receiving a thorough restoration. The seller has provided a series of photographs documenting the work carried out, which show that not a single screw was overlooked during the process that got this car back on the road.
