The brutalist lines, executive trim and inimitable character of the R107, and of the entire lineage, the 560SL is the pick of the litter. Originally a US-market model never officially sold in Europe, the 560SL carries the car's largest plant - a 5.6-litre V8 - and remains a relatively uncommon sight on British roads.
This Signal Red example with black MB Tex interior was imported from the West Coast of the USA in 2024 following an estate sale. The vendor describes it as a largely original, factory-standard car, retaining its rear seats and benefiting from a new OEM soft top fitted by a previous owner. Its specification includes the scarcely-seen heated seats, alongside cruise control, cold air conditioning, electric mirrors, ABS, and auto climate control, all reported by the vendor as functioning correctly.
In June 2025, approximately £4,500 was invested in mechanical and electrical reconditioning at BMERC Garage in North London, covering a broad scope of work from a new radiator and timing chain tensioner to electrical corrections across the centre console, instrument cluster, and heated seat wiring. The car was also machine-polished around the same time and presents well, with some age-related patina, such as sun-faded door handles.
