The Appeal

This example is a regularly used and enjoyed example, and all the better for it. The current enthusiast owner has diligently cared for and maintained this example with Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell only trusted with the upkeep in his care. The result is a charmingly, original example in a fine overall condition.

The History and Paperwork

• The car left the Bloxham factory in 1995 
• The car was first registered in August of that year
• The first owner retained and used the car for six years
• The previous and sixth keeper acquired the DB7 in December 2009
• At this stage the DB7 had covered around 91,000 miles
• This owner moved to Belgium during his ownership and took the DB7 with him
• The current owner spotted the car for sale in Belgium during his DB7 search
• He bought the car in 2017 and travelled to Belgium to collect it
• At this stage the DB7 had covered around 103,000 miles
• Since then, the current owner has diligently cared for the DB7
• It is always dry stored between use and has been maintained and repaired as needed
• All mechanical work in this ownership has been carried out by Aston Martin Works
• During his ownership the current keeper has covered around 6,000 miles 
• There is a good level of paperwork included with the DB7
• This includes the V5 registration document in the name of the owner
• The car holds an MOT with validity through to January 2024
• The original owner’s manual and ring binder is present
• There is a good number of maintenance invoices included
• Just the sample photographed amounts to around £15,000 spend
• The total documented spend in this ownership is reported at £35,000
• A £10,000 bodywork and paintwork freshen up was also undertaken in 2022
  
  

The Interior

• The interior of the DB7 is sumptuously trimmed and finished
• The car is finished in Parchment leather with contrasting black piping
• The overall condition is very good for the age and mileage of the car
• The high-backed front sports seats feature box pleated centres
• The big side bolsters are defined by contrasting piping in black
• There is some minor surface cracking to the driver’s bolster, but it is well disguised
• The front seats are electrically adjustable and heated
• The token rear seats are pristine and may have been hardly used based on condition
• The black Wilton woollen carpets are original and in a great, used condition
• The Alcantara headlining is original with no signs of sagging or deterioration
• The dashboard is predominantly finished in black, double-stitched leather
• There are accents of dark walnut veneer to the face of the dash
• This extends down into the centre console
• No stereo head unit is currently fitted but the wiring is complete
• A veneer rimmed, three spoke Aston Martin steering wheel is fitted
• This is a well specified car too with many luxury refinements in evidence
• These include fully operational air conditioning and a heated windscreen
• Subtle details like the Aston Martin engraved alloy pedal covers are also present
• The well-shaped boot is finished in its original dark carpet
• The space saver spare wheel, tool set, and compressor are housed under the floor
• The original warning triangle and CD changer are also housed here
  
  

The Exterior

• The DB7 is presented in its original Aston Martin Chiltern Green Mica Metallic paintwork
• It’s a great heritage colourway and appears to be in good condition throughout
• The owner reports extensive bodywork and paintwork attention in 2022
• This was at a cost of £10,000 and invoices are reported to be on hand for this
• Consequently, the paint exhibits a deep and lustrous shine
• A couple of minor paint bubbles were noted and photographed
• The panel gaps are tight and symmetrical with doors opening and closing easily
• The cabin glass and other light lenses all appear original and pristine
• The car sits purposefully on Aston Martin on its original alloy wheels
• These are the so called “take off” 12-spoke 18-inch wheels 
• These are finished in a silver hue, have been refurbished but exhibit the odd mark
• These are fitted with a set of Bridgestone tyres in a 245/40 configuration
• It’s a fine-looking Aston Martin which seems to have stood the test of time very well 
  
  

The Mechanics

• This DB7 is fitted with the Jaguar derived 3.2 litre AJ6, TWR built engine
• It is a light alloy, twin overhead camshaft, supercharged straight six featuring 32 valves
• A water-cooled Eaton, 'Rootes' type, camshaft driven supercharger is featured
• This generous specification delivered 335bhp and a healthy 361 Ib-ft of torque
• Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed GM 4L80-E automatic gearbox
• At launch this configuration was good for a 160mph plus top speed
• 0-60 mph times were around the 6 second mark
• The under-bonnet presentation of the car is also very good
• What we could see of the underside looks to be in good order, too
• The numerous invoices included detail the work undertaken by Aston Martin Works
• Given this car’s fastidious maintenance it is reported to run very well indeed
