Of all classic Defenders, the 300 TDi is regarded by many as the best of the bunch. Said engine occupies a sweet spot between land Rover's older and somewhat underpowered naturally aspirated units, and the electronically complex Td5 that followed.
In pickup form, this comprehensively restored 1998 example carries a purposeful, working aesthetic that has become increasingly desirable.
Having spent much of its life as a farm vehicle, it was acquired by the current owner approximately four years ago as a two-keeper truck. Since then, it has been rebuilt both cosmetically and mechanically, with new body panels, fresh paint, and a new Exmoor Trim canopy completing the exterior. Inside, the factory-correct interior includes Raleigh cloth seats mounted on age-correct rails, and the middle seat position has been deliberately left open for the next owner to choose between a seat box or a third seat. No radio has been fitted, keeping it true to how a Defender left the factory in 1998.
