The Appeal
Maserati’s 3200GT was a firm reboot of an old idea that was originally perfected by the firm: a beautiful, comfortable and brutally quick GT in the manner of its Sebring and namesake the 3500GT. Clever Giugiaro details like those lovely boomerang rear lights set it apart from its rivals.
There was also its sonorous all-aluminium AM585 3.2L V8 to add even more character. The GTA added a 4spd automatic to fully engage with the relaxing, cossetting GT aesthetics.
This early GTA is classically finished in silver metallic with a lovely blue leather cabin. It is a low mileage car that has clearly been maintained to fastidious levels by its keepers. There is a huge history file with work by blue chip Maserati experts like McGrath showing regular and considerable investment. The car has been serviced continuously irrespective of mileage with regular cambelt, coolant and brake fluid changes. All of the work is carefully detailed in a multi-page type spreadsheet from first registration to 2025.
Recent work has included a service, throttle pedal centre, £4,101 of work at McGrath, steering rack boots and a set of quality Goodyear Eagles. This is a well kept and smart-looking GTA with the added reassurance of a long MOT.
