In 2002, Ducati replaced its outgoing superbike with a revised model, the 998. With a narrower cylinder head coming with the new Testastretta engine, this newest model raised the 900 series’ power figure up to a stonking 123hp.
This particular bike is a 998S benefitting from many uprated parts boosting that figure to 136hp. Originally produced as a Biposto variant, this model was converted to a single-seater design under its current ownership. The original rear end does still come with the bike which, after spending several years locked away and SORNed, is ready to hit the road and put a smile on its new owner’s face.
Reportedly a dream of a bike to ride, this Ducati 998S has covered very few miles throughout its life, certainly due to spending the past decade off the road. Having emerged from its hiding place a few years ago, it has since been recommissioned and is ready to provide the thrill of superbike power on the open road to its next owner. Ready to hit the road and be enjoyed, this is certainly a brilliant model for anyone looking for a classic Ducati superbike.
