The Appeal
When MG Rover wanted to impress its potential Chinese investors, it returned to its V8 roots: the 75 saloon was comprehensively re-engineered to accommodate a big, brutish American motor.
With just 833 built, the MG ZT 260 wasn’t exactly a sales success, but that wasn’t the point. It proved what MGR’s engineers could do and, in the process, gave enthusiasts one of the firm’s greatest RWD saloons.
This 2007 ZT V8 is one of the last registered and surely amongst the lowest mileage at just 31,540 from new. Mixing Starlight Silver metallic with a black leather cabin, it is pleasingly factory standard - and in very good condition thanks to its enthusiast keepers. Only a switch to Rover 75 wood trim deviates from how it left Longbridge - the original ZT trim is included.
With recent service and advisory-free MOT, plus attention to the brake discs and pads, this rumbly, charismatic 4.6L Mustang-engined super saloon is ready for its next enthusiast keeper to use and enjoy.
