The Appeal
996-generation 911s are undergoing something of a renaissance at the moment, with enthusiasts rediscovering this high point in the 911 lineage. The 996-generation Carrera 4S holds a distinctive position in the 911 lineage. Combining the wider Turbo body with the naturally aspirated 3.6-litre engine and all-wheel drive, it delivered the visual presence and all-weather capability of the Turbo without forced induction: a formula that has only grown in appeal. Finished in Basalt Black Metallic over black extended leather, this example wears what many consider the most desirable colour combination for the 4S.
This car has been in the hands of one owner since October 2004, covering just 23,214 miles from new and garaged throughout. It has recently benefited from significant mechanical attention, including a genuine Porsche fuel tank and fuel pump, along with new hydraulic power steering lines and a replacement steering rack. The vendor describes it as a delight to drive, and with this level of care and such restrained use, it presents a compelling proposition.image.png1.47 MB
