Ford showcased its 1957 models on October 1, 1956 to much fanfare. The Thunderbird, now in its third year of production, received updated styling with canted fins, 14-inch wheels for a lower stance, and an additional 6. 1 inches of length; all to make it fit in nicely with the rest of the Ford lineup. In addition, the interior was given a new dash and updated upholstery treatments along with a Volumatic radio that rose in volume as the car’s speed increased. Optional was a Dial-O-Matic power bucket seat that moved to its rearmost position when the ignition was turned off, allowing for easier entry and exit, and memory so the seat was returned to a pre-set position when the ignition was started. Base price was $3, 408, although nicely optioned cars were well over $4, 000.
The magnificent 1957 Ford Thunderbird Roadster featured here is finished in stunning Colonial White over a Black and White interior with a Black soft top and matching Colonial White hardtop. This exquisite motorcar was just traded us by a prominent California collector and is now ready to be shown or driven by its next caretaker. With a show-quality, comprehensive restoration in its history, we are proud to offer this investment-grade Thunderbird to the most particular collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the best!
