NOW this really does take me back to childhood and my I-Spy Books of Cars. I would be five-years-old and a car mad child when this fabulous Standard Vanguard Vignale (Michelotti designed) hit the showrooms. Powered by the tried and tested Standard-Triumph - as it was then - 2088cc engine, this Vanguard was an expensive luxury motor at around £1200! Great looks, great lines and a rare sight on the road today. Come to that, a rare sight at classic car shows, back in the days when such events used to exist.
Anyway, a delightful old girl all round and a lovely change from BMC, Ford and Vauxhall.
