This Triumph TR4 left the factory in black, with a red interior. Fast forward almost 60 years of use and abuse, the car is currently in need of a complete restoration.
We bought this car in the dry desert of New Mexico with an older Iowa title. The chassis frame looks solid. The body has had some metalwork done in the past. Both sills are new, while the left hand floor board was replaced with incorrect sheet metal. More repair work is needed on the body tub, and obviously on the dented bonnet. All of the fenders and doors appear to be solid. The car comes with a replacement front valance panel.
The TR4's interior needs to be completely renovated. It is missing one small centre console gauge. 03. 259 mls on the odometer.
Originally, this Triumph TR4 was equiped with an overdrive gearbox. Unfortunately, this unit was replaced by a standard 4 speed gearbox at some point. Commission, body and engine numbers appear to be matching. The engine turns freely, but clearly hasn't run in a long time.
An affordable TR4 project car that deserves to be brought back to former glory.
