Built by Harry Shay's company as a replica, with the full blessing of Ford, and stocked in all Ford showrooms across America, and sold with a Ford guarantee, made to look just like a Ford A but with Ford Pinto engine and transmission, disc brakes and modern equipment underneath. This particular car was imported by the present owner from California in 2012, and remains one of very few in the UK. It looks like a 20’s vehicle but drives like one from the late 70’s so is very useable in today’s traffic, and bound to attract attention wherever it goes; drove 60 miles to us. Current owner has fitted a secondhand 5 speed gearbox, new hood and carpets, comes with side-screens (with own bag), dickey seat and removable trunk containing a few trophies and spares, has modern safety features like seat belts and hazards and a large history file containing bills from both sides of the Atlantic, and full importation documents. Mileage of just over 10, 000 is believed to be correct and it comes with a correctly registered V5, a very recent MOT, a Pinto engine manual and spare key. Combines pre-war elegance with a more modern driving experience.
