This exceptional 560 SEC was purchased by the current owner (only the 5th in 33 years) in the summer of 2020 from the SLShop who prepared the car for sale, including a gearbox rebuild, new starter motor, plug leads and hydraulic hoses as well as a full service. The aircon compressor was also replaced by them under warranty. The car comes with a complete service history, including the original service book
During the last three years it has been enjoyed during the summer months and we have completed a major overhaul of the suspension and brakes, including springs, dampers, SLS spheres and pipes, all bushes, prop shaft joints, discs, pads, wheel bearings and axle beam mounts. The radio head unit, whilst maintaining the look of the period, incorporates Bluetooth, DAB radio and the original speakers have been replaced with high quality JL Audio ones but remain behind standard trim, ensuring originality.
Allowing for inflation, this car cost 170k new, the most expensive car in the UK at the time, and was built at the peak of Mercedes quality. Today it still drives very smoothly with plenty of power to spare and returns over 20 mpg on the engine that feels like it is just run in!
