This superb Sunbeam Alpine has had only one owner since coming into the UK from the sunny West Coast of America. Approximately 69, 000 Alpines were built between 1959 and 1968 with less than half beholding the 1725 engine. Having been converted to RHD, being equipped with the larger engine option, and an overdrive gearbox, KKH 615D holds a very desirable specification. Presenting with its lovely Ivory White exterior paintwork and Black interior with chrome wire wheels and excellent hood, KKH 615D is a stunning, sharp looking example.
Its sleek, fin-tailed body is in great condition throughout, the refurbished chromework is in excellent condition and gleams. The low-slung profile is very endearing and epitomises the charm of 1960's roadsters. The attractive and compact 86-inch wheelbase offers great stability for a car in its class, allowing for great confidence in its touring capabilities. Throughout the interior you are welcomed by superbly well-kept upholstery, a clean and unmarked dashboard and a beautiful wood rim steering wheel. Sitting within the engine bay is the 1725 powerplant that offers tremendous performance, smooth acceleration through the rev range and an excellent soundtrack. KKH 615D benefits from a recently replaced 4-speed gearbox equipped with overdrive which feels incredibly strong and correct up the road allowing for a very polite 2, 500 rpm at the national speed limit. Under deceleration, the Alpine pulls up straight and effortlessly with the Servo-assisted braking system.
For those in search an exciting classic British open-top sportscar that is becoming ever more uncommon to see, this Sunbeam Alpine MKV offers exceptional value.
