The Morgan Aero Eight presented the greatest jump forwards in terms of innovation for the company as it was the first new design from Morgan since 1964. This innovative leap was demonstrated when the new car was unveiled with an aluminium chassis frame. This was unlike anything that Morgan had done before. In all previous iterations of Morgan’s cars, the cars had been based on a steel chassis that was attached to an aluminium skinned wooden body.
The Aero came with a 4. 4 litre BMW V8 that produced 282 bhp. This was coupled to a six speed Getrag transmission. In 2007 the engine was replaced by a 4. 8 litre V8, also from BMW and the car was made available with an optional ZF automatic transmission.
This particular Aero Eight was first registered in 2002. The car has only covered 4, 800 miles from new and is therefore presented in immaculate condition. Being an early registration car, it is fitted with the original 4. 4 litre BMW V8 and comes with a six speed manual gearbox and the car is finished in Jasper Blue Metallic paint. The interior is finished in black leather with wooden veneers and an aluminium dashboard.
