The Appeal
When Ford finally relented and gave buyers a Mk3 Granada estate, in luxury Scorpio form, it provided a Blue Oval riposte to the more spartan German offerings available at the same price. These cars are important because they were the last executive estates built by Ford Europe.
Few of the handful of remaining survivors are likely as smart as this one. Finished in Tourmaline Green metallic, the de rigueur Ford paint choice when this car was new, it is in very good condition with a particularly well-kept cabin. It retains its many Scorpio accoutrements, including the factory radio, cassette, and CD system.
With just 67,000 miles from new, this five-keeper ‘93 estate must be one of the earliest surviving examples. It remains entirely factory-correct, right down to the six-spoke alloys, and is said to run and drive very well. All of the plentiful electrics are in full working order, according to the seller.
Fitted with the economical 2L DOHC Ford 16V engine and a relaxing auto box, this capacious load lugger would make a great family holiday wagon, or a talking point at a show.
