- Current MOT valid to December 2026 with no advisories
The Appeal
The third-generation W176 A-Class abandoned the tall MPV-like aspirations in favour of a much lower, more sporting and more hatchback-oriented design that tackled the Golf and BMW 1-Series head on. It was a huge success, bringing the three-pointed-star brand power to the segment.
Many A180s have been driven hard or cosmetically modified, but not this one. It is a really tidy early car with the economical 1.5L ‘Blue Efficiency’ 122bhp engine and a 7spd automatic gearbox. The Calcite White paintwork is really well kept, showing few marks, and the black fabric interior, accented with silver stripes, also appears little used. It is a really well specified car, the £4,290 of options adding over 20% to this car’s value when new. The upgrades include adaptive cruise, COMAND system, rear camera and blind spot assist.
Likely that preservation is due to the low sub-40,500 miles from new and the car spending its life up to 2024 on cossetting salt-free Japanese roads. The lengthy MOT, valid to December 2026, shows no advisories and supports the sense of a very well-kept car.
