Offered as the flagship of the Mercury range in 1952, the Monterey is a quintessentially American car through and through. Extravagant, chrome-laden styling, a robust V8 powerplant and a selection of seriously bright colour options made this a superb summation of 50s American auto culture, and now stands out as a highly evocative classic.

This example, originally shipped to the USA, has spent quite some time in Colombia before arriving in the Netherlands, and still carries the Colombian registration plate. All import duties and VAT have been settled, and it's no doubt bound to strike anybody seeing a classic piece of the 'Mother Road' era.
