The Appeal

Triumph’s 1967 Tiger range was offered in two forms – an on-road and off-road version. This is the T100C, the off-road version, the ‘C’ standing for ‘Competition’, and identifiable by its high mounted twin exhausts, smaller tank, skid plate and knobbly tires.

From 1966 the T100 got a new frame and better forks that transformed its handling and stability. New ‘eyebrow’ style tank decals updated the styling too.

Most T100Cs were sold into the USA market, but a few have begun to return to our shores as interest in these versatile and easy-to-ride classic bikes continues to grow. Stylish and usable, this is a very appealing classic bike and rare opportunity to acquire a very sought after British classic Triumph motorcycle in very good original and unrestored condition.

The Condition

Smart condition appears all original
Original features preserved whilst overall aesthetics appear to have been refreshed.
Attractive two-tone blue and white tank paintwork with gold coachline
No obvious deterioration of tank paintwork
Some small marks and chips on other painted areas but not significant
The overall impression is of a well-presented and lovingly maintained bike
Later Triumph ‘eyebrow’ tank badging in original, well-kept condition
Triumph branded vinyl seat with good padding and no visible marks
Rubber grips unmarked or scuffed with no cracks.
Chrome work appears original with only light marks and signs of age
Triumph tank rubber trim unmarked and undamaged
Chrome wire wheels in good condition with off-road tyres
Lights present well with clear lenses and bright colouring.
Exhaust manifolds display light discoloration and small dents.
Dials present well, just a tiny dent to chrome speedo surround to note.

Summary

The mechanics and the electrics have all been thoroughly checked over, and the bike recently serviced by Victory Motorcycles in North London. The bike starts easily and runs very nicely, with smooth gear changes and effective drum brakes.

This well preserved T100C shows just why these stylish bikes were so popular. Most of the T100C’s didn’t survive as they were thrashed being used for off-roading. Those available now have often been customised or adapted so finding one in such good original condition is getting rare. Mint condition T100C’s are fetching high prices, making this motorcycle a likely sound investment.
