The Appeal
When this pretty Hornet arrived in the showroom in November 1967 it would have been quite the treat for the lucky buyer. The Mk3 Hornet borrowed the engine from the Mini Cooper and mixed it with the luxury usually reserved for Wolseley’s big saloons.
Now, 57 years later, this same car is a real treat for the classic enthusiast. An exceptionally low mileage car with just five registered keepers, it is in highly original condition.
A thick history file and long, advisory-free MOT add to the appeal. Whether you are here because you love classic Minis in all their hues or you fancy a very usable, highly distinctive luxury 60s saloon, this car would grace any collection or classic car show.

A fascinating and documented history:
- Originally supplied new by Joseph Cockshoot (Wilmslow) Ltd to a doctor in Wilmslow on 23rd November 1967.
- He kept the car for 32 years to 1999
- It was sold to an owner in Cheshire on 10th January 1999
- At the point of sale it had covered just 26,000 miles from new
- It was sold to a buyer in Stockport on 31st August 2000 at 27,000 miles
- This buyer started work on a full restoration of the Hornet
- This work transformed the car into the stunning vehicle that you see today
- No expense was spared
- The history file contains copies of the bills and invoices for parts and services during the rebuild.
- The car was finally ready for the road again in 2005
- It was used sparingly until August 2013
- Then it was sold to its new keeper with just 31,000 miles
- In 2022 the car was sold to a well known collector of these cars
