The Appeal

Standardised and lightly updated over its predecessor, the Series III Land Rover was still every bit the legendary British classic it ever was. Rugged, versatile and hardy, this was another triumph for the marque - and remained a backbone for much of the United Kingdom's infrastructure - be it pastoral England or the British army.

This 1972 right-hand drive diesel example represents the classic Series III short wheelbase model that combines legendary off-road prowess with simple, functional engineering. Finished in traditional green with a limestone roof, this is a remarkably handsome car, with the desirable addition of an overdrive for more comfortable highway cruising, and a very impressive history file.
