The Appeal

Produced between 1972 and 1975, the Z1 would go on to become one of Kawasaki’s finest creations, setting numerous world records and receiving a great deal of praise from critics and enthusiasts in the process.

This is, of course, one of the later models from the production run, otherwise known as a “Z1-B”. The B offers numerous changes from earlier models, including notable performance & handling upgrades, as well as slight styling tweaks.

Today, the Z1-B stands as a rather rare machine, held high in the eyes of collectors and biking enthusiasts across the globe. This particular Z1 deserves to be amongst the most favoured examples on the roads, benefitting from an extensive restoration by the highly regarded Dave Marsden, and Z-Power.

This is a superb motorcycle guaranteed to spark conversation wherever it ventures, and one that would easily suit even the finest of collections.

This gorgeous Z1-B has a rather impressive history in the UK, having been subject to a rather comprehensive restoration at the hands of the highly regarded Z-Power in 2017. The restoration was exceptionally thorough and included the likes of a full strip down, frame refurbishment, engine rebuild, and plenty more. As the bike was in excellent condition for its age prior to the rebuild, plenty of original components were retained, ensuring noteworthy originality today.

The Exterior

Having covered just 1,232 miles since its restoration in 2017, buyers can expect this Z1-B to retain its showroom finish, with plenty of shine to enjoy. The metallic candy blue paintwork offers brilliant depth in the sunlight, and pairs beautifully with the gold detailing to offer a retro-inspired exterior, capable of turning heads for many years to come.

Accompanying the gorgeous paintwork are the rebuilt wheels, which feature the original stamped rims, with fresh spokes courtesy of Z-Power. The wheels are of course in superb condition and come wrapped in Dunlop Gold Seal tyres, with plenty of tread to enjoy.

Details and trim components also present themselves beautifully, showcasing plenty of attentive care from the bike’s restoration process. The only blemish can be found on the front mudguard, in the form of incredibly light scratching. However, this may very well prove to be quite easily alleviated with a good polish and certainly doesn’t detract from the highly impressive overall finish.

As previously mentioned, this Z1 was comprehensively restored by Z Power in 2017. As part of the process, the bike was subject to the likes of an engine & frame refurbishment, along with a host of replacement and restored original parts.

The bike has since covered 1,232 miles and continues to excel mechanically, starting on a push of the button, and performing perfectly with no known issues. If you’re looking for a mechanically sound example of the legendary Z1, very few will perform as sweetly as this one.
