Accidentally unveiled early via the release of a Hot Wheels die-cast toy, the C3 Corvette's story makes for fascinating reading. Its dramatic, spaceship-like curves were based on Larry Shinoda's famous 'Mako Shark II' concept car and a vast range of V8 engines were offered.
