The Appeal
Britain’s answer to the Mustang, the Capri was the sporty Ford coupé we all hankered after. It’s no wonder they were so popular. The Capri’s fastback styling was as cool as its American cousin, while big V6 versions proved to be very quick indeed.
Among the most highly regarded of all Capris was the 2.8 Injection and we’re delighted to offer this nice example which boasts on of the most ‘80s-tastic body kits we’ve ever clapped eyes upon. The vendor was told that this was a dealer-installed Tickford kit, although our research suggests it may be a similar period item offered by a company called Kat Design Ltd. Regardless of what it is, we think this is one fine-looking motor, especially on those distinctive ‘Pepperpot’ alloys, also finished in body colour.
The car comes from long-term single-family ownership; we’re informed that it had been in the same hands since 1991. It comes with a huge history file and has been maintained by a Capri specialist in Kent called Tickover for much of its life.
Exempt from road tax/MOT and ready to enjoy, this Capri is the ‘80s throwback all fast Ford fanatics surely covet.
