The Appeal
The R107 SL is all about effortless, cosseting conveyance. While we love the six cylinder 300SL, we also have a soft spot for the 4.2L model because it provides the rumbly V8 that seems so appropriate to this car, whilst offering better economy than the big 5L car.
The 420SL is certainly the discerning choice, because just 2,148 of these cars were built in RHD. This one is a desirable facelift car with galvanised chassis. It is finished in attractive Arctic White with matching hard top and a rather lovely Royal Blue leather interior.
The condition is a testament to the car’s cosseted life on Jersey and then Guernsey where it has covered less than 35,000 miles in its 38 years. We are told it has been very well maintained throughout its life.
The R107 is so usable that it is rare to find one with such a diminutive mileage. With its 220bhp V8 and smart specification, this one looks perfect for summer touring.
