Japanese manufacturers were so far ahead of the game during the 1980s, incorporating design features most car makers wouldn't even contemplate adding to a two-door coupé for another decade. The Nissan Silvia is a case in point. The 1983-1989 S12 offered turbocharged engines, power windows, crisp "wedge" styling, pop-up headlamps and much more besides. They were light too, weighing just 1,170 kilograms, making for an engaging rear-wheel-drive chassis, especially when paired with the five-speed manual gearbox.
This 1987 example has had just three former keepers. The vendor acquired it in January 2025 and it has been in dry storage ever since. As the photographs show, it's in very good condition for its age, as well as being exceedingly original.20250513_121609 Large.jpeg516.82 KB
